Wilty Pleasures is a contemplation on the human condition and the ephemeral nature of our fancies that finds beauty in sorrow. Swooning with electronic sounds that echo and reflect each other like pleasure and pain, the record synthesizes an atmosphere of impersonal personal reflection.

Although the most conspicuous aesthetics of Wilty Pleasures come from 80's synth-based music, the songs themselves are constructed in the tradition of jazz and bossa nova. Some sleuthing listeners may even detect an occasional harmonic device transplanted directly from the classic Brazilian repertoire.

Wilty Pleasures may be seen as an abrupt departure from the sci-fi instrumental big band jazz sound of the group's previous release, Sounds of an Electric Fantasy. However, the two records may also be considered to be a complementary pair. Each one finds a different context to feature lush electronic instrumentation and intricately constructed songs. Fans of Wilty Pleasures can look forward to hearing an instrumental jazz version of the record, which the group is currently working on.
